What areas do you service?
We service West Philly (approx. between 40th and 52nd Streets, from Market St down to Woodland Ave) and certain areas along the Main Line (Merion, Wynnewood, Narberth, and occasionally beyond). If you fall outside of these areas and want to see if we can still service you, please feel free to REACH OUT!
Are you insured?
Yes! We are insured through BLANK
Do you meet my dog or cat beforehand?
Always! New clients get started with a free consultation, where we will come to your home to meet you and your pet(s) and get to know each other. We’ll cover the ins and outs of your pet’s personality, routine, diet, medical history, favorite activities, you name it! We’ll also get the scoop on you
How do I schedule services?
If you are a new client, please get in touch using the Contact Form. From there, we will gather more information about your pets and your walking or sitting needs, and we will schedule a free consultation in your home. After the initial consultation, we can then begin to book you for services!
If you are an existing client, please email us your scheduling needs and we will let you know within 1-2 business days if we can do it (pet sitting requests can sometimes take a bit longer to confirm, but we will always touch base to let you know we are working on firming up availability)! If you are a dog walking client and would like a consistent, ongoing schedule for your pup, we will set up a recurring schedule that reserves your space from week to week, until or unless we hear from you otherwise!
How far in advance do I need to schedule?
If you are a new client, usually about 2-3 weeks ahead of your desired start date or travel date is enough time to schedule a consultation, get you put in our system and be ready to go. If you are traveling during one of our busy periods (Spring Break, late summer, major holidays, etc.), it is best to reach out at least 1 month to 6 weeks in advance. We can take reservations as early as you’d like to make them!
Do you do shorter visits, like a 15 minute potty break?
We do not. We feel that 30 minutes is the minimum amount of time it takes to make sure that your animal is well cared for in your absence. Even for the shy cat who may hide, or the senior dog who won’t walk too far, they are still benefiting from our presence and appreciate the time, consistency, and regularity of visits.
How many visits should I schedule per day when I’m out of town?
This is entirely up to you. For dog clients, 3 visits per day is the minimum requirement. We suggest that you schedule your visits to mimic your daily routine and timing as closely as possible. For cats, 1 to 2 visits per day typically fits the bill.
Do you need to keep a copy of my key?
Yes, ideally you will provide us with a copy of your key at our initial consultation. All keys are kept safe and secure at all times, and are labeled only with your pet’s name — no other identifying information. If this method is not favorable, we are also happy to use a hide-a-key or a lockbox that you provide.
How do I pay for your services? When do I pay?
You can pay via PayPal, Venmo, Cash, or Check. For clients that are going out of town, invoices are emailed approximately 1 week before your scheduled dates, and we ask that you pay prior to your departure. For regular dog walking clients, monthly schedule confirmations and invoices are sent out at the end of each month, and payment is due by the 15th of the month.
How do you communicate with me about my pets?
We customize our communication to match the level you prefer! Most dog walking clients enjoy receiving a text update at the end of each walk, with a potty report and any other fun or important details. When you’re out of town, we are more than happy to text you updates and pictures as often as you like! We always make sure to check your preferences during our initial consultation.
Can you come to my house at a specific time?
We work in 2-3 hour time windows for all walks and visits. We will always come within the agreed-upon time window, and we will always stay for the length of time you booked, even if we arrive at the end of the window. However, due to the unpredictable nature of working with animals and the variety of areas and clients we service, we cannot guarantee an exact arrival time.
What if I need to cancel a visit?
We have a cancellation policy: if you need to cancel and it is more than 24 hours in advance, please email us with the changes and your account will be credited for the cancelled visit(s). If you need to cancel and it is less than 24 hours notice, then please call or text so we are sure to see the message in time. With less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the service rate.
What if my return home is delayed? Or I come home early from a trip?
If you need to extend care, it is usually not a problem! We ask that you text or call us ASAP so we can assure that we have the availability to cover the extra dates and update your schedule accordingly. The additional visits will be added to your account and invoiced upon your return. If you are returning home early from a trip, we ask that you notify us ASAP and we will refund any remaining visits that are cancelled with 24 hours notice or more.
Do you administer medications? Can you give injections?
Yes! We are experienced in administering medications of all kinds, to dogs and cats, including injections.
My dog takes a while to warm up to new people – what do you suggest?
We love shy dogs! We are experienced and well-versed in the nuances of shy and anxious animals, and we are happy to work closely with you to figure out a success plan for your pup. We can start slowly by scheduling some “practice” visits, with or without you in the home, strictly for the purpose of allowing time and space for your dog to get warmed up to us (and before they actually need us for a potty break!). We will generally look for what motivates your dog best, whether that is food, affection, the excitement of the leash, a special toy, etc. and use that as our starting point. We are happy to take as long as it needs for your dog to build up a trusting relationship with us.
